Close to Hakuba, Lake Aoki remains one of the region’s quiet secrets
as the “Hidden Hakuba” — an unspoiled landscape of the forest and its serenity.
What makes this place truly singular is its water.
Rising from springs on the lakebed, Lake Aoki stays crystal-clear throughout the year
and is known for some of Nagano’s finest transparency.
Sunlight shimmers across the surface.
Mountains and woodland gather in reflection like a mirror.
At times, the lake feels less like scenery and more like a painting composed by nature
itself.
Simply watching it is cleansing.
A deep calm settles in, and before long, you find yourself quietly restored.
To carry this extraordinary natural beauty into the future,
we created private villas on the lakeshore. We call them "SUI".
"SUI" means water in Japanese.
The name is also inspired by "HISUI", the Japanese word for jadeite
— often called a gift of the Northern Alps —
that captures the essence of the shifting surface of the lake and the blue-green of the
trees.
In a refined, private setting,
recharge with the energy of nature and enjoy a stay that leaves you feeling full.
Three Private Lakeside Villas with Unmatched Serenity
At SUI, we honor your freedom and comfort in nature’s embrace.
